Regular readers will know my feelings about sell by dates. I have had a can of Salmon in my cupboard for as long as I can remember and decided yesterday to fish it out (sic) with the intention of making a salmon sandwich and some fishcakes. Imagine my surprise when I read that the expiry date seemed to show the 7th of July 1952!! Needless to say I was looking at the wrong end of the can, where it was confirmed as being June 2013. So only nine years! Still in perfect condition and excellent salmon fishcakes.
