Spain has long been known for the quality of it’s cheeses, rising far and above the well known ‘Manchegos’. But strangely the consumption here is not as great as in other artisan cheese countries like Italy and of course, France closely followed by Britain although cheese eating in Britain does incorporate many imported cheeses from the aforementioned countries. After all you can’t get more ‘artisan’ than Stilton can you!!!???

To continue promoting the knowledge of these products, ‘A Todo Queso’ is born, and to kick it off will be the first International Festival of Artisan Cheeses of Marbella.

This a project born from the joint work of a great team of professionals under the technical direction of José Luis Martín , and Paco García, director of the El Lago de Marbella restaurant , one of the leading Michelin starred Chefs of Andalusia.

The First Edition of ‘A todo Queso’, ArteSANO, Marbella 2019 is sponsored by the Provincial Council of Malaga, through Sabor a Málaga, the support of the Marbella City Council, and our Mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, with the collaboration of Comercial Galera, a leading distributor of dairy products in Malaga.

‘A todo Queso’, ArteSANO, 2019 Marbella started on Thursday, October 17 with a day that took place at the El Lago de Marbella restaurant exclusively aimed at cheese makers and hospitality professionals. During the morning there was a training session for the participating cheese makers by José Luis Martín and Paco García.

Today Friday 18, the day will start with a tasting for the final in the Central Market of Marbella. The cheese shops can also market their products in the Historic Center of Marbella to all visitors during Friday and Saturday, October 18 and 19. This calendar will be completed with different workshops and tastings whose program will be made public in the coming days. The number of artisan cheese shops present will exceed thirty, according to the organization’s forecast.
