As its name implies, Ground is below, and part of, the fashionable restaurant Breathe whilst Breathe now has a dinner service only, Ground covers breakfast and lunch. It too has an enormous bar come server, come shop, covering the whole restaurant width, along with massive pair of sliding glass walls separating a 25 cover interior and a further 30 alfresco places with two giant hammocks and much foliage. All together a very pleasant place to dine.

Beside the dedicated breakfast menu available from 9.00 till 12.50, there is a further three menus, a la carte, deli. and a set two course with three choices of starters and Mains plus Tea, Coffee or a cookie for 19€. All of these kick in at 13.15 and last until 18.00. The Bread and Pastries are all baked ‘in house’, and are available for purchase at the servery

We chose from the a la carte – Mango Salmorejo with chopped toppings of Iberian ham, hard boiled eggs and Tomato’s. This version of the classic Andalusian cold soup is the best I have ever tasted! We followed this with a Trio of baked Spring Rolls of Spinach, Feta, Tomato, and toasted Sesame Seeds in a Yogurt & Yuzu (akin to Mandarin) Sauce. My Main was a charcoal grilled Cheeseburger made from 35 day aged Galician Beef and Idazabal Cheese (made from Sheep’s Milk by the Basque’s)
Forget presentation, let’s talk about flavours, textures, quality, and size that chef Fonsi has served up – in a word, on all points – Perfect.

It really shows, when Staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and seek to please and not to tease, how well they have been schooled, and in this respect Siggy and his staff were exemplary. I really tried hard to find something to complain about, but the only thing was that our round table was somewhat small!!
May be I shouldn’t have had my camera and note book taking up space!

The V.S.
Ground is on the roundabout after exiting from Puerto Bonus under the N340 into Nueva Andalucía. They have their own car park under the Restaurant which is free for one or two hours, depending on how much you spend (5€ is the threshold and 50€ is the divider) They open for Breakfast and Lunch every day: Average bill for a lunch time three course meal with wine around 32€. The menus are on the Breathe website, where you can also make a reservation, though I understand that this usually not necessary. Vegan and vegetarian elements are included in all the menus            www.breathelife.com  Tel: 952 036494
Warning: you are liable to put on weight if you succumb to the More’ish temptations of their Bread!
