I know it’s a strange name for a restaurant and I have no idea why he chose it, but there you go! As long as the food is good, it doesn’t really matter too much about the name! This restaurant has been at Ancon Sierra for many years with a mixed bag of owner/operators, the most recent being Sol y Luna. It is now under the auspices of Nacho Cabello, a talented chef from Madrid and his wife Margarita. Their fine dining restaurant has built a good reputation (see TripAdvisor) over the last 18 months and serves quality Modern Spanish dishes

 

FINEST QUALITY GALICIAN BEEF

Nacho searches for perfection and ensures that he buys the best quality ingredients and as one of his slogans is ‘cooked and prepared with love’, the combination is imperative. hence the reason that his Bellota Jamón is ‘Joselito‘ proclaimed the best ham in the world since 1868. His Cream of Pumpkin Soup with Truffle and Parmesan Cheese is exquisite and lovers of croquettes go mad for his Cream Croquettes with Baby Squid. Foie enthusiasts will vove the Foie mi Cuit with a Whisky Marmalade. Other favourites are the Red Tuna Carpaccio and the Tuna and Avocado Tartar. Nacho hunts for the finest meats and in this case Galicean Beef rules. So the Chuleton has to be tried! Fish eaters are also catered for, as well as a Paella (for two) which would hold pride of place at any Master Paella Chef Competition. All desserts are home made and there is anand there is an incredible Apple and Meringue Pie which you will have to find room for!

Surprisingly the majority of clients at Beagle are local extranjeros although there are a lot of people that make a pilgrimage to eat Nacho’s food. With this in mind and because of demand Beagle now offers a Sunday Lunch that should appeal to everyone.

For the Christmas period, there are special party menus as well as a traditional Christmas day Lunch and a New Year’s Eve dinner.

Service is warm and attentive from Amador who will advise on the select wine list. Prices are average for a restaurant of this standard although Sunday Lunch menu is from only 18.95 for two courses.
