I have been known to bash on about ‘sell by dates’ and ‘best by dates’ or ‘consume before dates’! claiming they are a marketing ploy and a waste of food; but I think I may have excelled my own expectations when I discovered in my cupboard a jar of Hoisin Sauce. The expiry date on the lid? 13^th December 2003. !! Did I throw it out? Did I hell!! It’ll be perfect when I eventually open it! On its 20^th anniversary?
