The restaurant operation that most people were intrigued about, opened its doors a year ago in October. I was fast to criticise, as we approached them for information prior to their opening and was surprised that they were reluctant to send us information. However they opened to much fanfare starting with the restaurant bar area, expanding with their Ground Artisan Café and Bakery and then this year they opened their Air Raw and Cocktail Bar.
I must admit the first time I visited I was absolutely stunned at the interior and the concept. The atmosphere was amazing and the food that we picked up (Prawn Skewers) was superb. Since then I have visited the Café Bakery which is excellent and the fabulous Air Raw and Cocktails.
A recent dinner menu (for September) with its fusion style, offers such delights as Steamed Angus and Prawn Dim Sum, Spanish Angus top rib cooked for 48 hours, mixed with Huelva red prawns and locally sourced vegetables served with teriyaki and truffle cream.
There is a good selection of healthy options especially in the salad department. One that caught our eye was the Beetroot Salad, with lettuce, feta cheese, brazil nuts, green apple and raspberry vinaigrette: Crispy and refreshing. Thai Style sea Bass with a leek and coconut cream with grilled vegetables was inspired.
For meat lovers there is lots to choose from, signature burgers for instance or even a Tomahawk Steak with Caribiñeros, as you would expect the cost of such a delight at 120€ makes your eyes water, but ample for two people and this amazing piece of meat which has been marinated for 24 hours with orange, ginger and honey and then cooked in their Josper charcoal grill, is worth every centimo!. No room for dessert? You will be tempted!
As expected of a modern restaurant of this calibre, Vegans, Vegetarians and Gluten Free are all taken care of; as well as wine cognoscenti and even well travelled consumers would be wise to listen to the sommeliers before choosing from the extensive list.
If you are feeling flush you can always start your evening in Raw Air, with Oysters, Caviar and Champagne. Better hurry though as this particular, spectacular, venue is having its closing night on the 20th September and is throwing a Gold Party, requiring an entrance fee of 20€ including a welcome drink. Sounds like sophisticated fun.
